Art 222 Digital Book Works

This course will focus on the aspects of digital bookmaking. In addition to concept, sequence, and content ideas, there will be discussions in graphic design and the use of type, illustration, and photography. Technical emphasis is on learning how to publish books using the computer and readily available digital output options such as ink-jet printers. The class will cover scanning, correct file format and resolution, as well as the preparation in layout design programs. Various bookbinding approaches are explored.
