Independent Study
Advanced students or students who have studied at Firenze Arti Visive for at least one semester and are in good academic standing may propose to take an Independent Study in a specific discipline. An Independent Study enables a student to propose a study plan to meet an essential educational need relevant to individual artistic or scholarly development. The Independent Study student may utilize studio facilities and resources both within and outside of Firenze Arti Visive. It is important for students attending the Year Abroad Program that the home school review and approve the Independent Study proposal before submitting the study plan to Firenze Arti Visive.

Exams
Students must take exams at posted times. No early exams will be given unless prior arrangements have been made with the instructor. Students will not be excused from exams or allowed to take early or make-up exams owing to travel plans.

Grades
Students are graded on the A-F letter scale. Students can choose to be graded on a Pass/Fail basis if their home school also offers this option. Students who do not wish to receive credit for an academic course may audit the course if their home school approves.
